Press Release Submission Guidelines
To maintain the quality and credibility of our distribution network, all press releases submitted through Scroll Craft Media must meet the following guidelines before we proceed with distribution.
Headline and Summary
Your headline should be concise, accurate, and ideally under 18 words. It must clearly represent the content of the press release, include the name of the issuing entity, and be written in title case format. Active verbs make headlines more compelling and more likely to be picked up by media partners. Avoid special characters such as trademark or copyright symbols as these may be removed by certain outlets.
Your summary should describe the press release content clearly and be kept under 45 words. Summaries that run too long risk being trimmed by media partners. Do not use the first paragraph of your press release as the summary.
Content Standards
Press releases should be between 300 and 800 words. Content must read as an official announcement and should be written in third person. First person language such as “I”, “we”, or “you” is not appropriate for press release format.
Your announcement must be newsworthy, meaning it should cover something new, timely, and relevant. Press releases are not an advertising medium and should not read like a sales pitch or promotional copy.
The content must focus on the issuing entity. Press releases are not the appropriate format for commenting on or discussing other organisations or external events unless you hold verified authorisation to do so.
Quotes included in the press release must be realistic and attributable to a real, named individual. Do not include questions within the body of a press release.
Anchor links within the press release should be limited to three. Avoid JavaScript or unconventional markup. Standard formatting such as bold, italic, and hyperlinks is acceptable.
Each paragraph should be properly spaced. Avoid double spacing, unnecessary line breaks, and formatting inconsistencies. Spelling and grammar must be checked before submission.
Any website linked within the press release must contain legitimate and meaningful content.
Topics We Do Not Accept
Scroll Craft Media will not distribute press releases that fall under the following categories:
Political or civil content that contains campaigning, criticism, or agenda-driven messaging. Neutral and factual references to government or policy matters may be considered if they are directly relevant to your announcement.
Content containing strong religious opinions or that is clearly intended to promote a specific faith or belief system.
Content containing hateful, offensive, or profane language or content designed to incite anger or harm toward any individual or group.
Content related to active legal cases or lawsuits unless submitted directly by the associated legal firm with verifiable credentials.
Content promoting illegal products or services, firearms, sexual services or products, escort services, pornography, pirated software, unofficial device unlocking, or deepfake technology.
Content promoting alcoholic beverages, tobacco, e-cigarettes, vapes, or related products.
Content promoting psychoactive substances including THC, marijuana, or kratom. Non-euphoric and legally licensed variants may be considered on a case by case basis with supporting documentation.
Content promoting get-rich schemes, money games, pyramid programs, or any service that guarantees rapid financial returns. Financial and trading service press releases may be considered only if the issuing organisation is licensed and verifiable in the relevant jurisdiction and the content does not make profit guarantees or misleading claims.
Content commenting on publicly listed companies or the stock market including tips, speculation, or analysis, unless submitted by the company itself.
Content associated with gambling or betting of any kind.
Content promoting alternative or unverified health and weight loss products, unlicensed body modification procedures, or affiliate health supplement promotions. Supplement-related press releases are only accepted when submitted directly by the brand itself.
Content promoting pseudoscience, psychic services, tarot, astral practices, or UFO-related claims. Mindfulness and meditation content is generally acceptable provided no unsubstantiated claims are made.
Content promoting adult or sexual enhancement products, dating services involving casual encounters, or escort-adjacent services.
Blockchain-related content that promotes wealth creation, token rewards, speculative trading, coin recovery services, or unverifiable projects. Blockchain press releases that are primarily monetary in focus or that piggyback on other crypto or NFT assets will not be accepted.
Press releases written primarily in a language other than English.
Content created with the intent to piggyback on the reputation of other notable brands or individuals.
Submitting on Behalf of a Client
If you are submitting a press release on behalf of a client, Scroll Craft Media reserves the right to request proof of authorisation. Acceptable forms include signed written approval on company letterhead, email confirmation from an official company address, contracts showing agency authorisation, or any verifiable third party confirmation. Any authorisation that appears incomplete or questionable will not be accepted and further verification may be required.
Claims Requiring Verification
Press releases containing notable claims such as endorsements, partnerships, testimonials, financial figures, or product performance claims may require supporting documentation before distribution proceeds. This includes signed agreements, audit reports, certifications, or research data depending on the nature of the claim.
General Disclaimer
